Many people have heard of people making copies or “clones” of DVDs through special software. Many companies offer software that is meant to create simple copies of DVDs with a few clicks of the mouse. Usually the programs need to be installed and loaded on the computer that has a compatible DVD reader drive and then the DVD must be placed in to load up through the loader. The loader will then scan the DVD to check the possibility that the DVD may have specialized protection. Most DVDs from Disney and other companies that are very adamant about their movies being copied may not be possible to copy at this time and an error will occur.

The next phase will be the copy of the disk. The software will copy compatible DVDs to the hard disk of the computer and will make an exact copy of the DVD. The program may have an option to shrink the size of the disk to a standard DVD-r capacity so that when you burn the DVD to the DVD-r it will fit without having to do anything further to the image of the DVD. This makes it possible get a great DVD copy with a few simple clicks as long as you have compatible DVD writer hardware. Make sure that you take advantage of the hardware on your personal computer if it is a more modern computer of the time.
